Among the many things that we do, we are proud to announce the inclusion of "Self-Directed Cares" to the family of quality services. Essentially, Self-Directed Cares centers on your ability to receive needed cares right in your own home. In Wisconsin, a state program called IRIS was formed. IRIS is actually an abbreviation for Include, Respect, I Self-Direct. IRIS is a self-directed, long-term care option for elderly people and adults with disabilities where you, the person receiving IRIS services, creatively use those services and other resources to help you achieve the life you want and with the support you need.

The Lori Knapp Companies provides a wide range of services and supports for persons who are eligible to become an IRIS member. Your local Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) will work with you to complete something called a Long-Term Care Functional Screen. This is done in order to determine if you are eligible for IRIS and what money that you can receive to direct your cares. The ADRC will then contact the IRIS agency to start your process of becoming an IRIS member. Once an IRIS member, you have the option of making a number of choices about your services. The Lori Knapp Companies are capable of providing many quality and custom IRIS-related services. We can help you before or during the process while becoming an IRIS member.

Fiscal Employer Agent

Offering the most flexibility, control, and choice, the Fiscal Employer Agent option is for individuals who choose to direct their own care and want to be the "employer" of their caregivers. This maximizes the capability to make a wide variety of choices about the care that is received. Fiscal Employment Agent (sometimes referred to as "Fiscal Agent") is a form of Self-Directed Supports in which an agency/person, like the Lori Knapp Companies, becomes what's known as the Employer of Record for your caregivers. This means that our Fiscal Employer Agent services will support you by allowing you to have the convenience of control over your cares and caregivers while off-loading much of the "business tasks" to us. Fiscal Employer Agent provides you with a great opportunity to get the kind of caregiving you desire, without the need to become immersed in paperwork, payroll processing and other tasks needed in order to run a business. Co-Employment

Sometimes referred to as 'employee leasing', Co-Employment Services is a nice balance of control and freedom from business requirements that allows you to have input into their long-term care services, have direction with their cares, and partner with the Lori Knapp Companies to employ needed caregivers. Co-Employment is a great option if you do not want the "full" responsibilities of being an employer of your caregivers, yet still want to have some control over your cares and who your caregivers are. You are able to have a say-so with your desired caregivers. The Lori Knapp Companies off-loads some of the work of managing and administering employees from you. This is accomplished because the Lori Knapp Companies becomes the "Employer of Record." Although Co-Employment slightly differs from the Fiscal Employer Agent option, Co-Employment still allows you to have input into your long-term care services, have direction with your cares, and partner with the Lori Knapp Companies on many employer and employee-related topics.

Remote Monitoring Services

Remote Monitoring Services are a revolutionary way to receive on-going support in your own home and are designed to deliver quality in-home support through the use of technology. So how does this work? There are a number of "sensing devices" (based on your needs and wishes) that are strategically placed where you live. In turn, these devices allow off-site response staff to be alerted to the fact that you require some kind of support and/or intervention. The placement of sensing devices within your home allows you the opportunity to live independently without cameras. The responders are strategically located within the community so they can offer a physical response in a short time. All responders are paid professional caregivers, trained on the types of cares that you require.
